In 2020 work was completed installing compliant disabled toilets next to the David Myhill Room, complete refurbishment of the ladies and gents toilet facility and upgrade of the baby changing facility. The kitchen floor was upgraded to align with health and safety requirements. The whole electricity system has been changed over to 3 phase supply, resulting in a safer and greater capacity to cope with demands that are required today. A fire alarm system has been installed to make the hall fully compliant with today’s safety requirements. We have also installed a new keypad entry system, so that hirers are given a code to gain access to the Hall. This new set up was recommended by our insurers.

The next stage in our plans will be to refurbish the main hall and we hope soon to be announcing plans.

The total project cost exceeded £50,000, with funds being raised from Breckland Council, Yaxham Parish Charity and the Paul Bassham Foundation.

These improvements have made Yaxham Village Hall an even more attractive proposition for your events and the community.
